First Things
A Common Sense Approach to Origins

Very likely you are familiar with the seriousness of the challenge Darwin’s theories have posed for the Christian community. What is most concerning is the impact the teaching of evolution in our colleges and universities is having on students’ faith. We hear of aggressive attacks in classrooms using the twin weapons of isolation and intimidation. As a result, vast numbers of students who grew up in the church and entered higher education believing in God are losing their faith before they graduate. This cannot be allowed to continue if the church is to have any future in America.

The Crisis

How You Can Help

The Bible tells us that effectual fervent prayers from God’s people are effective. God hears our prayers. God is pleased when his people pray. God has a history of taking action when his people pray. We believe the effort we are undertaking is in line with God’s will. We believe he is supporting us, but we also believe he wants his people to be in prayer in situations such as this.

The book of Acts tells us of a time when the church met to pray after Peter and John had been released from being imprisoned and threatened. When their prayers were concluded, the building was shaken to indicate that God had heard their prayers and was pleased.

We covet the prayers of the Christian community as we seek to shake the scientific community and end its dissemination of Darwin’s evolution theories.

The Need: Prayer

We need opportunities to present our refocusing effort in order to make a big enough splash in the origins pool to be noticed. We believe our case is solid, but we will not be effective if we are not able to be heard.

We are looking for churches where we can hold seminars – preferably with multiple sessions such as a Friday evening session followed by morning, afternoon, and evening sessions on Saturday. We will work with the church to promote the seminars in the local community.

We are also interested in opportunities to speak at Bible colleges and universities. If you know people in positions where they could arrange an opportunity for us, we would appreciate your putting us in touch with them so that we can answer any questions they might have.

The Need: Opportunities to Speak

As a retired preacher, I am well aware that every church and every member of the church gets many requests for financial help from very worthy causes. It is frustrating that we cannot help everyone. We would not ask for your financial assistance if we did not feel this is a mission that is vital to the future of the church in America.

What we are suggesting is that you consider giving on a monthly basis – whether it be ten dollars a month or twenty-five dollars a month or whatever you feel you can afford. We are looking for Christians who will partner with us in this effort and be with us every step of the way.

We are working on obtaining 501c3 status with the IRS so that all donations will be tax deductible. We will investigate ways in which you will be able to authorize a monthly deduction if you prefer to make donating as simple as possible. Most banks now offer customers the ability to set up automatic payments through their checking accounts with the ability to adjust or discontinue payments at any time. Any help you can give will be appreciated.

The Need: Financial

The crisis is urgent. Even now new students are registering for fall classes – classes where their faith will be attacked. We must reach as many people as possible as soon as possible to bring attention to the case we are making.
